How it all began...
Who doesn’t know it? The diet industry.
It was my constant companion for years, and everything revolved around food.
But let’s start from the beginning.
When did I start thinking about how much I weigh?
Actually, quite early.
My family environment was always focused on this topic.
Talking about it, complaining about their bodies, their problem areas.
By the age of 10, I was already lying about my weight.
I would shave off a few kilos.
Back then, it was somewhere around 30 kilos.
My first diet
As a teenager, I quickly fell into the habit of comparing myself to others, and because of my role models at home, I soon started my first diet.

By my mid-20s, I knew every diet on the market.
I was constantly trying something new.
I switched between starving myself and binge eating because I couldn’t handle the hunger and restrictions anymore.
Then I also imposed additional restrictions on myself because my skin was so bad.
The game-changer
At some point, I came across the book Intuitive Eating.
The book, written by two English authors, didn’t change everything overnight.
But it made me think differently and eventually led me down a new path.
More and more, I started listening to my body.
Am I really hungry? And what do I actually crave?
Nothing is off-limits anymore.
It was an up and down journey
For many years, it worked well sometimes and not so well at other times.
I often found myself in environments where dieting and being thin were considered important, which sometimes negatively influenced me again.

Because the idea of being “thin” and looking perfect is still ingrained in so many people’s minds.
And depending on how I feel (hello hormones!), I sometimes also feel uncomfortable and
think it would be nice to lose a few kilos again.
“Look at her, she’s back to 50 kilos after giving birth. Maybe you’d feel even better with a few kilos less.”
My body confidence has nothing to do with my weight!
Even though I know such thoughts are complete nonsense.
Because whether I weighed 52 or 62 kilos, I always felt the same—sometimes good, sometimes bad.
It was never really about my weight, but rather about my mindset.
Weight has nothing to do with what a person radiates.
No one, whether man or woman, finds someone attractive just because they are thin if there’s nothing behind it.
It’s always about energy and confidence.
And in the end, it doesn’t matter how much someone weighs.
This way of thinking has strengthened even more for me in the past year since I’ve been with my boyfriend.
I have gained so much more self-confidence because he simply loves me the way I am.
Even when I was pregnant, he never said anything negative about my body.
I have experienced it differently before.
My 5 best tips to start today with intuitiv eating:
End the diet mentality
Tip: Unfollow social media accounts that promote diets or unrealistic body ideals. Instead, follow pages that support intuitive eating or body acceptance.
Honor your hunger
Tip: Always carry a small, satisfying snack (e.g., nuts, yogurt, banana) so you don’t reach extreme hunger and end up eating uncontrollably.
Make peace with food
Tip: Create a list of “forbidden” foods and allow yourself to enjoy them—without guilt. See how you feel when you eat them without restrictions.
Respect your fullness
Tip: Take a short break halfway through your meal. Ask yourself: “Am I still hungry or already comfortably full?” If you’re still hungry, continue eating, but mindfully.
Respect your body
Tip: Wear clothes that actually fit and feel comfortable instead of squeezing into something too tight just to fit an ideal.
These small changes will help you eat more intuitively and feel more comfortable in your body.
And always remember: It’s a journey!
You have spent years torturing your body with diets and lost trust in it.
So, it will take time until you fully “heal.”
